What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Next Play is a booking and scheduling platform for independent sports trainers. Families use it to find sessions, book them, pay for them, and check in. Trainers use it to run their schedule and get paid.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Next Play website and the trainer pages hosted on it.

What you give us

When you create an account or book a session we collect:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your phone number, when you provide one.
  • Your date of birth, when a trainer's program asks for it.
  • A password, which we store only as a cryptographic hash and cannot read.
  • Anything you type into a message, a booking note, or a form field a trainer has added.

Information about athletes you add

A parent can add an athlete to their account. We store that athlete's name and date of birth so a trainer knows who is attending and can run age-appropriate sessions.

Athlete accounts added this way have no login and no password. They cannot sign in, receive email, or receive text messages. The parent who created the account controls it, sees everything attached to it, and can ask us to delete it at any time.

We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent involved, write to us and we will delete it.

What we collect automatically

When you use the site we record:

  • Your IP address, browser, operating system, and device type.
  • The city, region, and country your IP address suggests.
  • The page you arrived from and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
  • Which pages you viewed and what you clicked.

We use this to keep the service working, to understand which parts of it people struggle with, and to detect abuse. Our analytics run on our own servers, so this data is not handed to an advertising network.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never reaches our servers and we cannot see it. We store an identifier that lets us ask Stripe about your past payments, along with the amount, date, and what was booked.

Stripe handles your card details under its own privacy policy.

Text messages

We send text messages only to people who have asked for them. You opt in by ticking a box at checkout that is never ticked for you, and agreeing is not a condition of booking anything. We record what the box said at the time you ticked it, when you ticked it, and the IP address it came from, so we can show what you agreed to.

Reply STOP to any message to stop them. Reply HELP for help.

We do not share or sell mobile opt-in information or consent records to anyone for marketing purposes. Consent applies only to the trainer's business you gave it to, and it is not passed to other trainers on the platform.

Who else sees your information

Your trainer sees the information needed to run your sessions: who is attending, contact details, anything a booking form asked for, and whether you checked in.

Beyond that, we share information only with companies that run parts of the service for us, and only so they can do that job:

  • Stripe, for payments.
  • Resend, for email.
  • Telnyx, for text messages.
  • Sentry, for error reports when something breaks.
  • Render and Cloudflare, for hosting and network delivery.

We do not sell your information. We will hand it over if the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are allowed to.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and booking history while your account is open, because it is your record of what you paid for and attended, and because we have tax and accounting obligations.

Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your personal information, keeping only what we are legally required to hold. Analytics records are kept in a form that is not tied to your account.

Your choices

You can:

  • See and correct your information in your account settings.
  • Turn off email and push notifications in your settings.
  • Stop text messages by replying STOP.
  • Ask us to delete your account, and any athlete accounts you created, by writing to us.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including asking for a copy of your information or objecting to how we use it. Write to us and we will help.

Security

Traffic to the site is encrypted. Passwords are hashed. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to operate the service.

No service can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you directly.
